April 20, 2026 Release

26R1.0

We are excited to announce the 26R1.0 Release. The new capabilities delivered include:

Compass Platform

Read-Only Profile for High Level Data Exploration

Compass now supports a user profile with permissions to log into Compass Explorer and view licensed Compass products, without full permissions to download or export data from the system. This supports use cases such as new user training, and internal audit and compliance restrictions on data access.

Read Only User

Read-Only users will be able to:

  • Log into Compass Explorer
  • Build sample queries for Patient, Prescriber, and National
  • View jobs and draft jobs in Job Manager
  • Download code lists, Quick Counts, and Job Receipts
  • View templates and the Compass Help Site
  • Apply Pathway filter, or view Data Connector Metrics, if licensed

The Read-Only profile will not be able to:

  • Access data in Compass SFTP or download from Job Manager
  • Perform administrative functions, such as creating and modifying jobs, templates, and users

Search functionality has been improved to support searching for product compounds or diagnoses even when terms are reversed or out of order. This is especially impactful on hyphenated names. For example, searching for “amoxicillin-clavulanate” and “clavulanate-amoxicillin” will now return the same Product results, and searching “Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease” and “Jakob-Creutzfeldt disease” will return the same Diagnosis results. This makes it easier to generate a list of relevant search results.

Transposed Product Search

Delivery Capability Expansion for Microsoft Azure

Customers will now be able to configure and test multiple Microsoft Azure containers as Compass data delivery destinations. Each destination can be configured with a unique display name, such as the brand team or the data warehouse. The delivery configuration menu for Microsoft Azure has also been updated with a cleaner design to facilitate management of multiple destinations.

When setting up jobs, the unique display name for each destination is shown in the Delivery Options selection card, enabling coordination of delivery locations between multiple teams. Users will be able to select up to three Azure destinations per job from the list of all configured options. Job Receipts have also been updated to include all Azure destinations to which data was delivered.

This expansion is available for all products which offer delivery to Microsoft Azure, including Compass Patient, Compass Pathway, Compass National and Compass Prescriber.

Compass Patient

Users will be notified to add any dedicated ICD procedure codes when searching for related dedicated J-Codes or Products for their query in Compass Explorer. This enables users to have a more complete view of their product through its entire market lifecycle, and potentially adding more records to product and procedure queries without needing to search for them individually.

For example, the drug Abecma will have 2 ICD-PCS codes flagged XW043K7 & XW033K7 which doubles the transaction volume.

Dedicated Codes Notification

Adding Dedicated Procedure Codes When adding dedicated ICD procedure codes, users will be prompted to also add the dedicated J-codes, if applicable. A notification icon will appear over the Procedure filter to inform the user of other dedicated procedure code options for that brand.

Adding Dedicated Products When adding J-codes or ICD Procedure codes that have dedicated products, a notification icon will appear over the Product filter prompting users to add the Products for that brand.

Users can choose to add the dedicated codes to their query in an existing criteria box (if applicable) or a new criteria box. Users can also ignore the notification if they do not wish to add the dedicated code(s) to their query.

Compass Patient & Pathway Data Quality Improvements

We are enhancing a number of attributes for quality and fill rates.

  • Over 900 additional Diagnosis codes are mapped to Disease Areas, improving the searchability and analytic value on 36 million transactions
  • Over 700 Diagnosis codes with updated Disease Areas updated for greater specificity or accuracy, improving 593 million transactions
  • Prescription data now includes veterinarians. Including these providers will allow scripts to be attributed to this specialty and more easily filtered out, if desired.
  • 1.5% Fill rate increase in Payment Subtype, due to improved mapping on claims with Cash payment types to now also reflect Cash in the payment subtype field.

Improvements to Compass Pathway include:

  • Addition of 11 new NCPDP Reject Codes, providing insight on rejected transactions
  • Expansion of Reject Categories to help understand patterns that are driven by Patient Eligibility, Regulatory Compliance, and the Pharmacy Network on over 657 million transactions

V2 Schema Retirement

Compass Patient and Compass Pathway Schema V2 has been retired as of April 20th, 2026. Moving forward, Schema V3 (first launched on April 21st, 2025) will become the exclusive format for exports. As a reminder, Schema V3 included enhancements in two categories:

New attributes that provided deeper insights into transactions and patients:

  • Ethnicity provides new patient demographic characteristics
  • Diagnosis and procedure data expansion provide additional insights for patients and transactions
  • PBM Name and Relationship Type provide deeper visibility into the Rx Payer landscape

Veeva Common Data Architecture (CDA) in Compass provided a valuable industry standard for operational data in life science companies:

  • Veeva IDs provide topical insight and simpler formatting
  • Product and Diagnosis Disease Areas roll up code sets to relevant therapeutic areas.
  • HCP Specialties provide all values for more accurate provider insights.
  • Updated attribute names, labels, and data formats drive consistency and interoperability across all Veeva software and data products.

Please plan to transition immediately to the new V3 Compass Patient and Compass Pathway schemas, and work with your Product Expert team if any additional support is needed.

Compass National

New Insights on Compass National Graph View

Starting April 28th, 2026, Compass National visualizations will include quarterly and yearly projection data. All the tables and visuals within National will support Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly time increments. Customers can use new Quarterly and Yearly projected data to provide a broad view of market activity that aligns with financial reporting, and to get better insight into Total Patients for brands with variable dosing schedules.

Customers will also get access to several new visualizations for additional insights in the National Graph view.

Compass National Graph View

Payer type projections (Commercial Tx, Medicare Tx, and Medicaid Tx), will be added to the Key Metrics table for tracking the payer mix of individual brands. A new Payer Mix pie chart will also be added for an aggregated brand overview. Payer mix breakouts will enable more precise HCP targeting and brand analytics for a market of interest.

Additionally, Total Patients will be added to the Trends chart to allow for the visualization of active patient counts on selected brands, across both pharmacy and medical claims, over a given time period. Users will be able to toggle between time intervals (week, month, quarter, year) and metrics (Tx, New Patients, Total Patients) to customize this chart. This updated visual will allow users to understand the number of patients on a brand annually, and year to date.

Compass National & Compass Prescriber

Using Inpatient Procedure Codes (ICDPCS) for Projections

Starting next month, our projections will incorporate ICD procedure code transactions that are mappable to specific drug brands, allowing us to capture additional transactions for brands with specific ICDPCS. This update directly improves projection quality by providing:

  • Increased Visibility: Incremental treatment volume, patients, and HCPs will be incorporated in projection
  • New Products Included: 56 existing products have ICDPCS codes, and 6 new products will be included based on increased volume through these procedure codes

ICDPCS are commonly used for products with complex administrations like gene and cell therapies, as well as a number of other inpatient administered products. Below are some examples of products expected to see significant increase in data visibility and projected values

  • Carvykti
  • Fetroja
  • Spevigo
  • Venclexta
  • Yescarta

This will be available in weekly projections starting on May 7th; and in Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly projections starting on May 28th.

V1 Schema Retirement

Compass National and Compass Prescriber Schema V1 has been retired as of April 20th, 2026. Moving forward, Schema V2 (first launched on April 21st, 2025) will become the exclusive format for exports.

As a reminder, Schema V2 includes enhancements in three categories:

Payer type projections provide a more representative payer mix breakout for a market of interest

  • Payer type projections represent the payer mix across prescriptions and procedures and are provided as separate metrics (Commercial Tx, Medicare Tx, Medicaid Tx)

Common Data Architecture (CDA) provides a valuable industry standard for operational data in life science companies.

  • Veeva IDs provide topical insight and simpler formatting.
  • HCP Specialties provide all values for more accurate provider insights.
  • Updated attribute names, labels, and data formats drive consistency and interoperability across all Veeva software and data products.

Date field updates to enable ingest of projections for different time intervals

  • The “month” field has been replaced by the “date_period” field. Field values are numerical (e.g. 1 for January, 2 for February, etc.) rather than three letter month abbreviations
  • The “days” field has been added, which contains the number of days in a given date period (e.g. 31 for January, 28 or 29 for February, etc.)

Please plan to transition immediately to the new V2 Compass National and Compass Prescriber schemas, and work with your Product Expert team if any additional support is needed.

Annual Update of Brands

As part of annual processes, the available brands to query from has been updated. 169 brands have been removed due to low volume and will no longer have projections available.

In the past 12 months, 312 brands were added to Compass National and Compass Prescriber. Additional brands will continue to be added on a monthly basis anytime a brand surpasses 100 total prescriptions and procedures.
