We are excited to announce the 24R1.0 release. The new capabilities delivered include:

Compass Patient & Compass Pathway

Expanded Schema with New Attributes

We are pleased to announce the expansion of the data delivery schema to include the addition of new data attributes for Compass Patient and Compass Pathway.

In order to support the transition, Compass will maintain both:

  • Current retiring schema (referenced in the portal and documentation as [product]_schema_v1)
  • New expanding schema ([product]_schema_v2) in parallel

Once ready, and if needed, your Product Expert team can support you in the move of any existing scheduled jobs on the v1 schema to the v2 schema.

New attributes in both Compass Patient & Compass Pathway

The new expanded schema provides a number of additional attributes:

  • Rx Payer Plan data, providing a payer and plan level data for prescription claims. Fields included are:
    • Primary and Secondary Payer Plan names, giving more details on the patient’s prescription plan. This field may be null if disclosing the Plan name does not comply with HIPAA privacy restrictions.
    • Corresponding Veeva IDs (VID), which are numeric values consistent across Veeva products that represent the Primary and Secondary Payer enterprise (e.g. Blue Cross Blue Shield) and the Primary and Secondary Payer plan (e.g. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan).
  • ICD-10 Procedures, providing a patient’s inpatient hospital-based procedures.
    • Fields included are: Up to six ICD Procedure Codes with corresponding descriptions.
    • As ICD procedures are performed in hospital inpatient settings only, they will be included on a relevant subset of Medical Claims records
  • Location Attributes, giving more detail to categories of location of care. Fields included are:
    • Place of Service Categories, which provides Veeva mapped place of service codes to Inpatient, Outpatient, and Long Term Care categories.
    • Pharmacy Channel, which provides types of pharmacies that are delivering prescriptions to patients.
  • Claim attributes, providing more details of interest on provider and writing patterns. Fields included are:
    • Claim Type, which provides Institutional, Professional and Pharmacy designations to show the type of provider delivering services to the patient.
    • Prescription Write Date, which provides the date on which the prescriber wrote the script for the patient. The transaction date of when a script was dispensed to the patient is already included in the Compass data.
  • Product attributes, providing more information about the brands in the patient’s journey. Fields included are:
    • Product VID, the numeric value consistent across Veeva products, associated with the product that provides a consistent key for brand mastering.

New attributes in Compass Pathway

  • Original Product, provides the NDC and Name of the product that was originally prescribed by the provider.
    • As original products only apply to prescriptions that had substituted products in the transaction, this data will be included on a relevant subset of prescription claim records.
    • The product that was dispensed to the patient is already included in the Compass data in the Product ID field.

Compass Prescriber

CRM Integration

Field sales teams need rapid insight on HCP behavior and market trends in order to plan their time and scale their impact. A native integration with Veeva CRM will deliver Veeva Compass prescriber-level projected data directly to the field team through powerful MyInsights content. This integration is available for customers that have active Compass Prescriber, CRM, and CRM MyInsights licenses. To learn more about the CRM integration, please reach out to your Veeva Compass Product Expert.

To utilize this feature, users can set up a monthly data query for prescriber-level data, with their criteria of interest within the Compass Portal, and select CRM as a delivery option - all with the click of a mouse.

Delivery Options

The Compass Prescriber data will then be delivered directly in CRM and can be visualized using MyInsights – easily accessible by field teams.

Nitro Integration

Users now have the ability to deliver their Compass Prescriber (prescriber and zip-level) projected data to Veeva Nitro. Veeva Nitro is a data warehousing solution which helps seamlessly integrate with Veeva Compass data. Nitro provides faster access to your data, so you have your data ready for querying, visualizing and reporting. This integration is available for customers that have active Compass Prescriber and Veeva Nitro licenses.
