21R3.2

Platform

Improved accuracy of Annual Volumes in Code Searcher

The Annual Volumes displayed in the Code Searcher have been updated with improved transaction volumes for products, diagnoses, and procedures. Previously, these volumes were estimates based on sampling - and have now been revised to be true totals of the number of claims in the past rolling 12 month period.

Compass Patient

Deliver data to Amazon S3

Users now have the ability to deliver their Patient data files to Amazon S3, in addition to SFTP and Veeva Nitro. For many IT or Data Science organizations, S3 is their preferred transfer method and will allow for faster data ingest, where it can be easily fed into Redshift.

In order to enable, there is a one-time set-up of a pre-configured Amazon S3 bucket and then any user running queries will have the option to send their data delivery to S3.

21R3.2

Please reach out to your Veeva Compass contact in order to set-up an S3 bucket.

Data quality enhancements

Prescription and Medical claims are merged across a number of suppliers to bring more complete data to users. Prescription and Medical claims merge logic has been enhanced to continue to improve the fill rates for cost and quantity fields through ensuring the more complete data “survives”. Improvements will be seen in Days Supply, Number of Authorized Refills, Total Amount Paid, Patient Pay Amount, and Line Charges.

OpenData specialties available to all Veeva Compass users

Specialty for the HCP and Referring HCP, powered by OpenData, will now be available to all Veeva Compass customers, even those without an OpenData subscription. These fields include:

  • hcp_specialty_1
  • hcp_specialty_2
  • referring_hcp_specialty_1
  • referring_hcp_specialty_2

The non-OpenData driven Specialty fields are still available in the Compass Patient schema to support easy transition. It is recommended these fields are not used, as they will be deprecated in the future.

  • hcp_specialty_1_classification
  • hcp_specialty_1_specialization
  • hcp_specialty_2_classification
  • hcp_specialty_2_specialization
  • referring_hcp_specialty_1_classification
  • referring_hcp_specialty_1_specialization
  • referring_hcp_specialty_2_classification
  • referring_hcp_specialty_2_specialization

Medical Supplies

Medical Supplies and device data is now available in Compass Patient data. Medical Supplies can be queried via the Portal, and the product information will now be enriched and provided in the data itself. For queries that include Medical Supplies, this will drive improved data quality and fill rates for product_desc and product_name.
